Discrimination

SF discriminates.  SF and I were naming a bunch of neighborhood girls that are SF's age, and then I started naming the boys, when SF promptly replied that those were not her friends.  When asked why not she replied that she didn't like boys.

Here is our conversation the other day on the way to the park.

SF:  Look, there's TV.  Does she have a little brother?

Mom: Yes.  OV is her little brother.

SF:  I don't like him.

Mom:  Why not?

SF:  Well, I'm just a little girl (this is her new excuse for everything).  And he's a boy.

Mom:  You like Daddy and Tom (Grandfather), don't you?

SF:  Yes, but I just don't like boys.  I'm just a little girl.

This weekend she told Chad that she did not want a little brother, only a little sister.

Today she told me she didn't want to wear her blue jeans.  She said she doesn't like the color blue because it is a boy color.  I showed her the cute butterfly on the pocket to reinforce the fact that these are "girl" blue jeans (unlike the "boy" blue jeans MC wore at this age).

Where is this coming from?  I don't want the girls to learn the truth about boys until much later.  It would ruin their image of their Daddy to find out that boys are stinky, gross, dirty, messy, and mean (Oh, wait, I think it might be too late).

FYI:  I seriously don't feel that way about boys (at least not all of them)!!!!  And if Tulip #4 turns out to be Peanut #1 (Thanks, Kristen) then he will be the neatest, cleanest, girly, little wimp in the world.

Boys are stinky and gross. Mine farts nonstop and laughs about it. At least the girl blames it on her toys when I've caught her tooting.
