Grammy and Uncle Matthew came to visit us during Grammy’s Spring Break, and we had a great visit. They got here Monday afternoon and left this morning. Here are a few highlights from the visit. The first one is funny, but the rest are pretty boring.
Monday night, Grammy and I were bathing the girls and getting them ready for bed. I bathed them, and Grammy covered them with lotion, brushed their teeth, and combed their hair. MC noticed Grammy’s diamond engagement ring while Grammy was brushing her hair and replied, “Grammy, I like your ring. It’s so beautiful. Mommy has one just like that, but it’s smaller.” I thought that was hilarious, but Chad doesn’t see the humor. He thinks it means that I am unhappy with the size of my diamond, and that somehow I have transferred these feelings of unhappiness onto MC.
Tuesday, we all went to MC’s gymnastic’s lesson. OF course, Grammy and Uncle Matthew thought that MC was the best little girl out there – she’s not. I usually stay in the car to avoid having to take the two little girls out of their car seats, so it was nice to see what they are doing during the lesson. We were all impressed that MC could walk across the LOW Balance Beam while kicking her legs out as she walked. It really is amazing how far the girls have come since their first lesson in August.
After gymnastics, we all went to Target so Grammy could buy the girls a new dress. SF didn’t like the dresses we picked out for her, but I’m hoping she will change her mind because they are cute and on sale. MC liked her dresses in the store, but as soon as we got home she decided she doesn’t like the blue one. They are both getting very opinionated about what they wear. I bought the Bee Movie since it was on sale this week. SF is scared of every movie – she says, “I scared, I don’t like that, He mean.” She told Grammy she wanted to watch the Bee movie and she wouldn’t be scared of the Bumble Bee.
We ate lunch at Panara Bread. They have really great Kids Meals that come with Squeezable Yogurt. We have never had squeezable yogurt before so it was a challenge for all (adults included) to make sure the girls didn’t spill any. Uncle Matthew opened MC’s to where she could suck hers out without spilling, but I tore SF’s open too much. Eventually, I poured the yogurt in the empty soup bowl and fed it to her from a spoon.
Elizabeth Anne was just happy to see everyone and to have a little more attention come her way. I think she is teething again. She cries when it’s time for her to sleep, and that is usually very unusual for her. She also missed a lot of naps so she is sleep deprived.
